With a lot of research, experimentation and overnight trips to New Covent Garden Market, we hatched a plan of how to supply the bartenders what they wanted: a range of cold-pressed juices made for the bar community, like fresh, zesty lemon and lime juice, strained, without the pulp – real authentic cranberry juice – and pineapple juice that makes you feel like you’re biting into the fruit.

Vicky was employee #3 – and how lucky we were to have her leading production. Together we rolled up our sleeves, making and delivering 24/7 from our beloved railway arch – ‘44’ – in Battersea. Our appetite for learning was being well-fed, as the lessons came quick and fast. To find solutions we always oriented to our guiding principal – flavour first.

THE BEST
COLD-PRESSED?

Within a year we were supplying The Ritz, The Ivy, The SAVOY and Harrods – all of whom remain clients to this day – along with restaurants with over 50 Michelin stars.

Our marketing was our product … and it deserved promotion! To be precise Vicky did, so our ‘Queen of the Juice’ became a partner in Squish.

As the business grew, we were learning more about where the most flavourful produce from around the world is grown. Outgrowing our first home, we knew we needed production close to the source of the best fresh produce in Europe; Italy. The excellence of local produce and minimising the time from the field to filling, are two of the secrets to great flavour.

GOING TO
THE SOURCE

Now under the Italian sun (and a huge array of solar-panels), we have a world-class team sourcing and refining production methods that pass on the flavour that nature intended. While in the UK, we remain true to our roots, with Squish’s office and warehouse based where we first learned the fruit trade, in New Covent Garden Market. We’re continuing to build the Squish team and supply the best cold-pressed juices as cocktail ingredients to the UK’s most esteemed venues. As it has since the journey began, our goal remains: to inspire great hospitality.
